Flute Restaurant Diner Reviews

"Excellent fish restaurant in Bath. Definitely recommend "

"Went to Bath for weekend and came across Flute whilst walking around. It wasn't busy which surprised me because the place was very pleasant and the food excellent. Not a lot of ambiance but good service and a very enjoyable visit. Particularly enjoying the soft shell crab. The main course of sea bass was plain but delicious."

"Wow, what a huge disappointment. Focaccia stale. Megrim sole had apparently drowned in butter. But the worst was the expensive fruit de mare which I sent back as the first tiger prawn had decomposed into goup. I had sucked the head so am dreading the next 24 hours in anticipation of food poisoning. If nothing else, a fish restaurant should only serve prime fresh seafood. This was far from fresh! Apparently they have had difficulty recruiting a head chef. But the rot goes much deeper than that. I was still asked to pay £43 for the bread, megrim sole and two glasses of wine which I reluctantly did before making a quick exit. Shocking really. LATEST: RESTAURANT NOW CLOSED"

For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
