Harden's survey result
Summary
“Love the location, looking down on St. George’s Market” – this smart, mezzanine operation within the well-known landmark doesn’t inspire a huge number of reviews, but it’s an atmospheric breakfast location, and later in the day wins acclaim from fans for its quite ambitious menu (with dishes such as Co Down Pigeon & Chicken Wellington in Wild Mushroom Sauce).
Summary
“Great seafood fresh from St George’s Market just downstairs (but other excellent local produce too)” helps win a thumbs-up for this five-year-old operation on the mezzanine of the well-known landmark, looking down onto the bustling stalls below. Although well-rated for value, it’s not a particularly cheap operation, with main dishes on the à la carte menu of some ambition mostly priced in the £30+ range. But there are also alternative menus for breakfast, pre-theatre and children.
For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
