Well known down Brizzle way, this small (16 seats) tapas haunt has an outsized reputation for its authentic approach. Our feedback is limited, but it’s a favourite for one or two of our reporters who award it very high marks. It’s part of a local group, and its siblings include Cargo Cantina and Gambas.

This popular tapas joint wins consistently sold ratings all round and is “even better now that there is space outside”. It is part of Kieran & Imogen Waite’s local Season + Taste group, with stablemates Bakers & Co in Gloucester Road and Cargo Cantina and Gambas in Wapping Wharf. Their Stokes Croft Mexican, Masa + Mezcal, was a victim of the 2020 lockdown.

For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

Tiny premises on the pedestrianised Cotham ...
Reviewed 4 days ago

"Tiny premises on the pedestrianised Cotham Hill, Bravas has a tapas menu of standard items, plus daily changing specials. Each dish was excellent, beautifully presented and tasty. Although individual dishes are relatively inexpensive, the cost does creep up. And we felt a sharing platter of 3 desserts , plus a glass of PX sherry at £11 per person, was not value for money. Service was efficient, marred only by the need to ask again for one of the dishes, which arrived cold. Limited wine list. There is outside seating, somewhat cramped and inside is very noisy. Not a place to visit during University term time!"
