After just 18 months at the reins, Simon Bonwick announced that he was leaving this sixteenth-century, twenty-cover village pub “tucked away in the woods” and not far from The Crown at Burchetts Green, where he built his acclaim. While there was no clue as to the new regime at the time of writing, the chef had already taken up an upstairs residence at the Oarsman Pub in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.
