“Great views from the beachside terrace and an interesting fishy menu” have made this tapas-style venture “a definite must-go”, especially when visiting the nearby Tate. (As of 2019, they also run seasonal spin-off West Beach Bakery, on the western side of Porthmeor Beach, and serving up “great pizzas”, deli-style lunches and “even better views” than the original… and it's “less busy” too).

For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Worth going to just for the stunning sunsets. Fortunately the food is really good as well. The crispy squid, furikake, miso-dashi mayo is probably the best squid I’ve ever eaten and the rest was not far behind: delicious scallops in ‘nduja butter, charred hispi cabbage, grilled mackerel. My only minor complaint is that they brought out all the small plates at the same time when it would have been easier (for everyone) to have brought them out in stages. Very good and friendly service. "

"very slow service of first course, the kitchen could clearly not keep pace with the seatings, tainted a previously unblemished record of very enjoyable relaxed experiences"

"Just lovely - much better food then other over-hyped St Ives haunts too. A view you won't forget."
