Harden's survey result
Summary
“Great Italian food in what has become a regular favourite – not cheap but of a consistently high standard and the family that runs it is charming” – a sample of the limited but very enthusiastic feedback on this simple, small bistro which is popular for its regular food evenings and excellent pasta and puds.
Summary
This “newish addition to the Whitstable scene”, near the seafront, was born as a street-food stall on Portobello Road in 2019, later becoming a fixture with Kent foodies before outgrowing its previous 15-seater premises – cue the move to the coast. Its crowd-pleasing Italian food includes some “unusual and outstanding pasta dishes and now also an excellent Sunday roast” – and there’s a “lovely family atmosphere” to go with it (owners Sammy, chef, and Hannah, FOH, met on a Caribbean cruise ship and run the venue alongside their daughter Tracie and son-in-law Keith).
For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
