Farewell Pachamama as final branch closes

Pachamama East in Shoreditch closes down tomorrow, bringing to an end the decade-old Peruvian brand from a group which has switched focus to Mediterranean cuisine in recent years. The Shoreditch site is to be re-launched by owner Rustambek Narzibekov as an as-yet unnamed Greek restaurant.

The company said: “This marks the end of a defining chapter for us, one that has been shaped by bold Peruvian flavours, unforgettable moments, and a deep sense of community. But as with any great story, evolution is key.

“This is not a continuation, but a bold new beginning. We’re stepping away from the Peruvian identity and immersing ourselves in the richness of Mediterranean culture, cuisine, and energy.”

The group’s shift to European-inspired cuisine began in 2022 with the opening of Greek restaurant Zephyr in Notting Hill, and last year its Peruvian coastal specialist Chicama in Chelsea’s King’s Road was replaced by Aegean-inspired Bottarga, with the original Pachamama in Marylebone relaunched under an Italian guise as Nina earlier this year.
