High-achieving Korean chef Woongchul Park has opened a Korean fried chicken joint called Papa Dak at Flat Iron Square, near Borough Market in Southwark.
Woongchul and his partner Bomee Ki are the team behind nearby Sollip, which sits at number 23 on the current Harden’s 100 list of the UK’s top restaurants. It was also hailed as Top Newcomer by Harden’s when it launched in 2020.
At Papa Dak (‘dak’ being Korean for chicken), the chicken is fried twice and glazed in either ‘Korean red’ or ‘Guinness black’ sauces. Also on the menu are so-tok so-tok skewers of grilled smoked sausages with Korean rice cakes.
Woongchul says: “The menu at Papa Dak is all about big flavour in every bite – saucy, delicious and exactly what you want when those indulgent cravings hit.”
