A Mediterranean-inspired restaurant enticing long-lunchers launched this week close to Marble Arch in Marylebone – Mour, an offshoot from the Leonard Hotel next door.
Set inside a smartly remodelled Georgian townhouse with its own entrance on Seymour Street, the 60-seater restaurant includes a sun-lit courtyard open all year round thanks to its retractable roof – providing a calm retreat in one of the capital’s busiest localities.
Founder Saachi Sehgal and his sister Sienna grew up spending time at their family’s Leonard Hotel next door, and have conceived the restaurant as a relaxed home-from-home. The name Mour is a play on Seymour Street while also conjuring up in Saachi’s words “a place to celebrate ‘the more’ in life: the longer lunches, the second bottle, the conversations that spill into the evening“.
The all-day menu promises to follow the seasons, offering ‘British produce cooked with Mediterranean flair’. Mour’s social hub is the cocktail bar (pictured) which anchors the dining room, serving signature martinis as well as a Mediterranean-leaning wine list.
