Chef Lottie finds her Belfast Beau

Belfast-based chef Lottie Noren has opened her first restaurant as founder, a European small-plates specialist called Beau in the city’s Cathedral Quarter, following her success as head chef at Edo.

Lottie represented Northern Ireland in TV’s Great British Menu last year. Originally from the Lake District, she was inspired to become a chef by a meal at L’Enclume at the age of 16, and has lived in Belfast for more than 10 years.

The new venue is in a unit empty for 16 years that has now been lavishly refitted under Belfast City Council’s ‘Vacant to Vibrant’ regeneration programme. It is in the Cathedral Quarter’s Warehouse Lane – bravely next-door to one of the city’s highest-rated restaurants, the Muddlers Club.

Lottie says: “Beau is all about bold flavours, honest cooking, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Think seasonal menus, thoughtful details, and food that feels special but never fussy.

We are incredibly excited to open Beau and continue our journey in Belfast’s dynamic food scene. Warehouse Lane is the perfect location for us to bring something fresh to the table, while staying true to our core values of quality, creativity, and genuine care for our guests.

Edo (Latin for ‘I eat’), near Belfast City Hall, is praised in the 2025 Harden’s guide for its “innovative and high-quality” Spanish-influenced tapas dishes.
